1 Mei ialah Hari Pekerja.
Dahulunya kita sebut 'Hari Buruh'. memandangkan kita ni dah melangkah kezaman yang lebih sofistikated, maka perkataan 'buruh' itu ditukar kepada 'pekerja' - satu perubahan yang menampakkan kematangan para pekerja sekarang yang lebih berketerampilan dan punyai ilmu dalam bidang yang mereka kuasai.
Perkara penting yang amat diharapkan ialah ia bukan satu perubahan pada nama sahaja, tetapi merangkumi perubahan sikap dan tanggungjawab pada semua tenaga kerja. Elakkanlah dari perbuatan rasuah, membuang masa, pentingkan diri sendiri, memilih kerja, amalan birokrasi, bertangguh dan sebagainya. Jadilah seorang pekerja yang cemerlang.
